Administrative Professionals Week or Day began in 1952 as National Secretaries Week and in the 1980s the name was changed to better reflect the duties of administrative personnel. It is observed during the last full week in April. According to the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), "there are more than 4.1 million secretaries and administrative assistants working in the United States, according to U.S. Department of Labor statistics, and 8.9 million people working in various administrative support roles."

Almost every organization depends on the skills, dedication, and efficiency of Administrative Professionals. Why not show your appreciation by taking time to make a card or banner for the administrative professionals in your office. You can include your card with your gift.

Candy is a welcome gift to almost anyone. Today's stores and specialty shops offer exotic flavors, great containers and even candy for diabetics or those on a diet.

If candy doesn't seem right, why not think of other food gifts that your administrative professional might enjoy?

You might want to do a bit more than pack a lunch box for your administrative professional! But, a nice lunch at a restaurant or even a potluck lunch in his or her honor is a great way to show how much you appreciate their work.

If the work load doesn't permit time for a leisurely lunch, a gift card to a nice restaurant is always welcome.
