Welcome to Verse of the Day!

Today's Bible Verse:

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. (NIV)

Today's Inspiring Thought: An Attitude of Gratitude

In Sandy Patty's book, The Edge of the Divine, she talks about developing an "attitude of gratitude" for achieving victory over negative thoughts and behaviors.

In it she quotes Andy Andrews (The Noticer): "The seeds of depression cannot take root in a grateful heart."

Here's another interesting observations on having an attitude of gratitude:

"Dr. David Soper, in God Is Inescapable, suggests that basically the difference between a prison and a monastery is just the difference between griping and gratitude. Undoubtedly this is true. Imprisoned criminals spend every waking moment griping; self-imprisoned saints spend every waking moment offering thanks. Dr. Soper says that when a criminal becomes a saint, a prison may become a monastery; when a saint gives up gratitude, a monastery may become a prison." --Ray O. Jones
