Andrew Grant was a writer for ThoughtCo covering the topic of Bollywood movies. Andrew Grant is a critic, distributor, and film programmer based in Berlin, Germany. Growing up in New York City, his interest in Bollywood cinema began when he was a teenager, when he would often escape to the Bombay Cinema on West 57th Street, at the time the only theater in NYC that showed first-run films from India.

He began writing about film on his blog, Like Anna Karina's Sweater, which focused on lesser-known films that were receiving limited coverage in the US. In 2005 he formed Benten Films, a DVD distribution company bringing out releases of both American and international independent cinema.

He has written for Time Out New York,,,,, Cineaste, Premiere and Asian Cult Cinema. He is active in the film festival industry.
