Discussion of Arcadia University's Admissions Standards:

Arcadia University has selective admissions -- just over half of applicants will be admitted. Successful applicants tend to have grades and standardized test scores that are above average. In the scattergram above, the blue and green dots represent accepted students. You can see that the majority of admitted students had high school grades of "B" or better, combined SAT scores of about 1000 or higher (RW + M), and ACT composite scores of 20 or better. A significant number of admitted students have grades up in the "A" range.

In the middle of the graph, a few yellow dots (waitlisted students) and a few red dots (rejected students) are mixed in with the green and blue. This means that some students with grades and test scores that were on target for Arcadia were not admitted. Also note that some students were accepted with standardized test scores and grades that were a bit below the norm. This is because Arcadia has holistic admissions. Whether you use the Common Application or Arcadia's own application, the admissions officers will be looking for a winning essay, interesting extracurricular activities, and strong letters of recommendation. Arcadia also recommends a "personal meeting" (most schools would call it an interview) which is a great way to demonstrate interest.
