As a morbidly obese child, I was always too out of shape to play many sports. But that didn’t stop me from thinking I was the biggest sports fan in the world. My closet was full of sports jerseys and my walls were covered in posters of my favorite athletes. While most kids my age were watching cartoons, I would drive my parents crazy if they didn’t let me watch ESPN.

I have been in love with the world of sports -- specifically basketball -- for as long as I can remember. When I was around 16-years-old, I had it all figured out. I knew I couldn’t play sports, but I was determined to cover them for a living. And that's exactly what I have been doing ever since.

I have been in love with the game of basketball ever since I was a toddler. I always caught as many games as I could on television and that still holds true to this day. Even though I have always loved the game as a fan, I never fully understood how hard it was until I decided to step onto the court myself.

I weighed over 400lbs as a teenager. Life was miserable, but I made the necessary changes to my lifestyle. I learned my love for basketball could go beyond being a spectator. With a lot of hard work, a ton of willpower and countless hours spent on the basketball court, I lost over 250lbs.
