Bucknell is a highly selective school, only admitting around one out of every four applicants. Students must submit SAT or ACT scores as part of the application. Since Bucknell uses the Common Application, students can save time by using that application for multiple schools. That application does have an essay component, which students will have to complete.

Located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Bucknell University has the feel of a liberal arts college with the course offerings of a comprehensive university. The engineering program is worth a close look, and the university's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences have earned it a chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Admissions have grown increasingly selective in recent years. In athletics, the Bucknell University Bisons compete in the NCAA Division I Patriot League.
