California State University-Northridge requires students to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of their application. Both are accepted equally, with neither preferred over the other. The school accepts just under half of those who apply, making it somewhat selective. Applicants must complete an online application, submit test scores, and send in high school transcripts.

Cal State Northridge is a public university and one of the larger universities in the California State University System. The school's 365-acre campus is located in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. The university is made up of nine colleges that offer a total of 64 bachelor's and 52 master's degree programs. Business Administration and Psychology are the most popular majors among CSUN undergraduates. The university has earned high marks for its programs in music, engineering, and business. In athletics, the CSUN Matadors compete in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference.
