Catherine Sustana is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles for two years. She taught English at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu for 11 years. During her time as a professor there, she founded an undergraduate literary magazine and started a student reading series.
Catherine, a fiction writer, has had short stories published in numerous literary journals, including Arts & Letters, Crazyhorse, Quarterly West, Calyx, and Alaska Quarterly Review. She has also been a finalist in several literary contests. These include the Spokane Prize for Short Fiction and Florida State University's World's Best Short Short Story Competition.
Catherine holds a B.A. in English from Brown University and a Ph.D. in English from the State University of New York at Albany.
