It became a four-year college in 1941, and transitioned into a university in the 1960s. A historically Black university, CSU is divided into four distinct colleges: Education, Arts and Sciences, Business, and Engineering. Popular majors include Criminal Justice, Business/Commerce, Psychology, and Education. Outside of the classroom, students can take part in a number of extracurricular activities, ranging from academic clubs, fraternities/sororities, recreational groups, and performing arts groups.
