Cher Hale is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles on the Italian language. She began studying the Italian language in 2012 while she was in college. Cher spent a semester living abroad in Italy and immersing herself in the country's language and culture. Upon her return, Cher founded The Iceberg Project, a platform for Italian language-learning students. The program provides digital courses and free weekly content to help people gain a better understanding of the language and its nuances.
The site is also the home of Cher's blog and to her podcast, the 30-Minute Italian. The show covers the Italian language and culture and gives examples of Italian in everyday use. The Guardian ranked the site as one of the top 10 podcasts to help with language learning in 2015.
Cher Hale received a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Nevada–Las Vegas. She also holds an Associated Arts degree from College of Southern Nevada in General Studies.
