Classical Music Wedding Albums

Recommended Classical Albums for Your Wedding

When my sister got married, I was given the task of finding the music. With so many choices available, it can make planning a wedding even more difficult and stressful.  It was clear why my sister delegated the task to me. In my searching, I came across several albums worthy of her wedding day, as well as yours.  Below, you will find my recommendations for classical music wedding albums.  For more specific classical music pieces to play at your wedding, here is a list of ten populuar classical music songs for weddings.

The Knot's Carley Roney, has put together a fantastic album of classical music. From the gentleness of Bach's "Air" (Suite III) with Yo-Yo Ma on the cello to the extravagant Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah, you'll find classical music for almost any setting within your wedding. Another plus is the caliber of the performers. As I already mentioned Yo-Yo Ma, you'll also hear Joshua Bell as well as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Performed by OffStage Brass, this album features classical music performed entirely by brass.  But don't get the wrong idea.  The music on this album is quite touching.

The title may be a bit much, but don't let that stop you from purchasing this album.  This 2-disk classical music wedding album features great performances of many famous classical pieces, like Thais' Meditation,  Saint-Saens' The Swan, as well as Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.  With the proper sound system, these crystal clear recordings will make it seem like the performance is live.

I don't know if it's just me, but when I hear the acoustic versions of these classical pieces performed by Mark Magnuson on solo guitar, I think of an outdoor Autumn wedding.  You'll find the Trumpet Voluntary, Air (Water Music), and Air on a G String especially pleasing, thanks to Magnuson's quietly reserved style of playing.

Rounding out this list of classical music wedding albums is the Bride's Guide to Wedding Music.  What's great about this album is that it comes with three disks featuring sixty-one excellently performed and recorded classical music pieces.  So for those of you who still can't decide what music to play, this will be perfect for you.  Though it may not be a problem for everyone, this classical music wedding collection lacks the two main musical pieces of the traditional wedding, the Bridal Chorus and the Wedding March.
