JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

1)  Train and coach cheerleaders for game cheer, rallies, competitions, summer camp and any other appearances/performances.

2)  Assist in teaching athletes to perform sound, safe, fundamental techniques of cheerleading including stunting and tumbling skills throughout the season.

3)  Attend, supervise, and ensure the safety of students during practices, competitions, field trips, travel, and at athletic events/games including homecoming performance, rally, home and away football, basketball, playoff and any other activities/games as required.

4)  Oversee summer practice and attend summer cheer camp.

5)  A strong choreography background, with the ability to choreograph and teach cheer routines to the cheerleading squad is desired.

6)  Ability to facilitate excellent communication between team members, parents, teachers, and athletic administration is required.

7)  Understand and enforce all team and school rules.

8)  Ability to work effectively, and in concert with the Song Coach, as well as with school administration, booster club members and parents.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualified applicants must have knowledge of cheerleading rules and regulations.

Knowledge of High School activities, athletics, and related events is preferred.

Knowledge of the competitive cheerleading industry is preferred.

Competitive experience with high school and/or all-star/spirit teams is preferred.

Previous work with adolescent age students is preferred.

Collegiate coaching experience is a plus.

Prefer someone with experience in power tumbling also. Will be working with athletes from 3-17 years old.     • Thomasville, Ga - Southern Magic All-Stars is seeking a highly qualified cheer and gymnastics coach. Must have at least two years of coaching experience. Must be a self-starter and choreographer. Call coach Crawford at 229-200-0143 asap.
    • Medford, MA - Tufts University Cheerleading is seeking a coach for the 2010-11 academic year. Prior cheerleading or gymnastics experience is a must; experience coaching is a plus. Position will involve supervising two or more evening practices per week, as well as attending home football and basketball games on evenings and weekends. The coach will work with the co-captains to choreograph routines and coordinate practices and events with the Tufts Athletics Department. This is a part-time, paid position with Tufts Athletics.
