College of Staten Island Admissions Overview:

With an admittance rate of 99%, the College of Staten Island is an accessible school. As part of the CUNY system, the College of Staten Island accepts applications through the system's website. Additional materials that prospective students must submit as part of their application include high school transcripts and test scores from the SAT or ACT. While a campus visit and personal interview are not required, they are strongly encouraged.

College of Staten Island Description:

The College of Staten Island is one of the 11 senior colleges of CUNY, and it is the only public university on Staten Island. The college was founded in 1976 when Staten Island Community College and Richmond College merged. The current 204-acre campus was completed in 1996. The campus is located in the center of the island and features neo-Georgian buildings, woodlands and open lawns.

High achieving students should look into the Macaulay Honors College -- accepted students are fully funded and receive many academic, professional and cultural perks. In athletics, popular sports include basketball, softball, baseball, track and field, and swimming and diving. The Dolphins compete in the NCAA Division III.
