The university is made up of seven different colleges of which the College of Arts and Sciences is the largest. In recent years the university has been on the upswing as they've gained recognition for their efforts engaging students. In 2006, Newsweek-Kaplan named Elon the best school in the country for student engagement. A majority of Elon students participate in study abroad, internships, and volunteer work. UNCW wins high marks for value, and among North Carolina's public universities it is second only to UNC Chapel Hill for its four-year graduation rate. Founded in 1693, the College of William and Mary is the second-oldest institution of higher learning in the country. The campus is located in historic Williamsburg, Virginia, and the school educated three U.S. presidents: Thomas Jefferson, John Tyler and James Monroe.
