Discussion of Columbia College's Admissions Standards:

Columbia College Chicago is a large arts and media college located in the city's South Loop. The college is not overly selective, and you can see in the graph above that successful applicants had grades and test scores that vary widely. In 2015, 88% of applicants were admitted. So whether your grades and test scores are above or below par, you may be able to find a home at Columbia College. The majority of admitted students had GPAs of a 2.5 or higher, SAT scores above 950 (RW+M) and ACT scores of 18 or better. However, the college is test-optional, so you don't need to submit SAT or ACT scores to be considered for admission.

Nevertheless, you'll notice a few red dots (rejected students) throughout the graph. This is because even when a college isn't selective, not all applicants get in. Students need to have completed their high school course work successfully, and they will need to submit a letter of recommendation and personal essay with their application. The college also strongly recommends that students submit their test scores and a portfolio of their work.
