Data courtesy of Cappex. Discussion of Covenant College's Admissions Standards: Covenant College admits the great majority of applicants (in 2015, 94% of all applicants were admitted). However, don't be fooled by the school's high acceptance rate. Covenant College has a strong applicant pool, and students who are admitted tend to have grades and standardized test scores that are at least a little above overage. In the graph above, the blue and green dots represent admitted students. Covenant is a small college so there aren't a lot of data points, but you can see that most applicants had high school GPAs of "B+" or higher, SAT scores (RW+M) of 1100 or higher, and ACT composite scores of 22 or better. A significant percentage of applicants had grades up in the "A" range. You'll notice, however, that some students were admitted with grades and test scores below the norm. This is because Covenant has holistic admissions and makes decisions based on more than numbers. Covenant College asks for letters of recommendation from both your church and your school. Also, Covenant takes its Christian identity seriously, and all applicants are required to submit a 1-2 page personal testimony "about your conversion experience, assurance of salvation, and your personal walk with Jesus Christ." Finally, students with marginal grades and test scores may be asked to submit an essay or graded paper, take a standardized test, or do a phone interview. All applicants have the opportunity to do an optional interview.
