Craig Haley


Craig Haley is a former writer for ThoughtCo. He has been a sportswriter since 1987, covering a wide range of sports both locally in his native Trenton, N.J., and nationally, from the recreational level to professional sports. He is currently the senior editor for Stats LLC, a sports data and content company.

Craig spent 22 years as a sportswriter and editor at The Times newspaper of Trenton, N.J. He has served as the managing editor of, a leading broadband channel of youth sports coaching instruction, and as the executive director and senior editor of the Football Championship Subdivision coverage for the wire service.

His syndicated writing has been published across the nation and in a number of magazines, including Athlon SportsLindy's Sports and The Ring. He has coached youth baseball, basketball, and softball on recreational and all-star levels.


Craig earned his B.A. in journalism and professional writing from The College of New Jersey, formerly Trenton State College.
