Peter Griffin, the patriarch of the Griffin family on Family Guy, is the Fred Flintstone of modern times. Like Fred Flintstone, he cooks up some crazy schemes to either get rich quick or hide from the law. Other times Family Guy has Peter traveling through time, or playing out an ancestor's storyline. Whatever the reason, Peter Griffin has worn some crazy get-ups on Family Guy. Let's take a look at some of his most hilarious appearances.

When Peter goes to work wearing contacts instead of glasses, Angela, his boss, finds him very attractive. She tries to seduce Peter, but he refuses. Then she demands that he have sex with her or she'll fire him. He says no, and she follows through on her threat. After a pep talk via Robert Mitchum in an old movie, Peter returns to Angela's house to give her what for, but finds her attempting to kill herself. She confesses that no man has found her attractive in years. Peter sets her up on a date with his friend, who is actually Peter wearing a formal disguise. They return to Angela's house and have sex. Later, we find out Peter pulled a switcheroo and it was actually Mort Goldman who had sex with Angela.

When the Griffin family is decorating their Christmas tree, Peter tells the nativity story. His version is played out with Peter as Joseph and Lois as Mary. Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland are the three wise men. Chris is the drummer boy and poor Meg is the mule. And, as you may have guessed, Stewie is the baby Jesus.

Lois gets a job at a phone sex service to help pay the bills. When she comes home, she has no interest in sex, because she spent the day "servicing" the men in town. Frustrated, Peter starts calling the service, too. He becomes attracted to the woman on the other end of the line, who is actually Lois. He asks her for a date, and Lois agrees, although she's angry Peter is "cheating" on her. Peter dresses up in a white suit and curly hair for his date. They meet at a motel and end up having fantastic sex. Lois reveals herself and says she's angry at Peter for cheating, but Peter says he knew, somehow, she was his soul mate all along.

Peter decides to launch his own children's show when Stewie's favorite program, Jolly Farm Revue, goes off the air. His TV show, Petey's Playhouse, stars a puppet he created, named Saggy Naggy, who is really Peter's nagging version of Lois. Lois discovers what Peter has done when children around town attack her. After Peter has a horrible accident on the show, he admits that Lois was right to discourage him to begin with.

When Peter's home business gets shut down, he joins the Tea Party in an effort to get rid of the government. Quagmire joins, too, but Joe just tags along to see what's going on. Brian, however, explains to Peter that the Tea Party is really just a way for big businesses to get what they want. It's not until Quahog's government is disbanded that Peter realizes they really do need one. He convinces the town to re-form the government.

Peter takes out a second mortgage on the Griffin family house so that he can buy two hundred thousand lottery tickets. He wins, but the money changes the whole family, and Peter loses his friends. The Griffins quickly burn through their winnings and play the lottery again to save themselves. They win again, but go broke just as quickly. Finally, Quagmire, whose business is doing well thanks to Peter's investment, writes Peter a check so they can keep their house.

When a crime wave hits Quahog, Peter sells the house and moves the family to a farm. They're in danger of losing the farm when they discover a meth lab in the storm cellar. The family falls to ruin until the house blows up and they move back to Quahog. (Ironically, they are able to afford their old house because property values plummeted after the Griffin family flooded Quahog with meth.)

After a skydiving accident, Peter meets a man named Mahmoud and becomes interested in the Islamic religion. However, he finds himself an unwitting party to a terrorist plot to blow up the Quahog bridge. Joe convinces Peter to stay on the "inside" and help stop the terrorists. Joe arrives on the scene and destroys the detonator, only to have Peter accidentally blow up the bridge when he borrows Mahmoud's cellphone.

When the family realizes Brian isn't as smart as they thought he was, Peter takes Brian on several dumb adventures to show him how fun it can be if you're stupid. One of the stunts involves Peter and Brian dressing as the famous fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes.

Peter discovers that a lump on his neck is actually a conjoined twin. He names his twin Chip. But when Chip becomes the family man Peter is not, Peter insists on having surgery to separate them. Chip leaves when he realizes Peter doesn't want him. While the family is searching for Chip, Peter falls down the basement stairs and breaks his leg. Chip returns and finds Peter. He puts a splint on the broken leg and takes him back upstairs. Chip eventually realizes he needs to leave the Griffins and discover the world on his own.

The Griffins lock themselves in Peter's panic room when three burglars break into their house during the night. To keep them entertained, Peter tells the family several stories about their "ancestry," including a story that has Peter's ancestor, from the Paleolithic era, inventing the wheel. Eventually, Joe shows up and opens the door, freeing the family.
