Discussion of Creighton's Admissions Standards:

About a quarter of all applicants to Creighton University will not get in, and those who are admitted tend to have strong grades and standardized test scores. In the graph above, the blue and green dots represent accepted students. Most successful applicants had high school averages of "B+" or higher, combined SAT scores of 1100 or higher (RW+M), and ACT composite scores of 22 or better. Many Creighton students had high school GPAs in the "A" range.

On the left side of the graph, you'll notice a few red dots (rejected students) and yellow dots (waitlisted students) mixed in with the green and blue. Some students with grades and test scores that were on target for Creighton University did not get in. At the same time, you'll notice that some students were admitted with grades and test scores that were below the norm. Creighton University has a holistic admissions process. The college accepts the Common Application, and the admissions folks will want to see a strong personal statement, meaningful involvement in extracurricular activities, and positive letters of recommendation. Most important of all is a strong academic record with challenging college preparatory classes.
