Colorado Springs is less than an hour to the north, and students will find lots of opportunities for hiking, skiing, boating, climbing, fishing and camping in the region. In athletics, the Colorado State University-Pueblo Thunderwolves compete in the NCAA Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
