Cynthia is a freelance writer who focuses on topics in psychology, popular culture, and the intersection between the two. She is also a researcher who studies popular media audiences and fans. In particular, she investigates the ways popular fictional narratives can enhance people's lives. She is co-author of the books Mad Men Unzipped and the forthcoming Finding Truth in Fiction, about audience's positive responses to fictional stories.
Cynthia earned a B.A. in film studies from Cornell University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology with an emphasis in media psychology from Fielding Graduate University.
