Dave White

Dave White's mantra, "Don't forget to boogie!," was born during a career in radio, nurtured while working in music television, and continues to govern his work as a freelance writer.

Experience

Dave's first job as a radio DJ was as a teenager in 1966, which launched a career that included five years at one of the top rock stations of the '60s and '70s, WKLO in Louisville. It was one of the few AM stations where you could hear album cuts from bands like Cream, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple, and it was the place to be to interview and write about artists who made concert stops in town, like Janis Joplin, Eddie Money, and Blood Sweat & Tears' Al Kooper and David Clayton-Thomas.

As a freelance music journalist, Dave has covered events like the Bonnaroo Music Festival and interviewed artists such as Steve Winwood, Ray Manzarek (The Doors), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Donovan, and Todd Rundgren. His passion for writing and music also led to a career in music television, where he coordinated the production of music "infotainment" shows for a Nashville-based production company.
