Definition of NAIRU

Definition:

NAIRU is Non-Accelerating Inflation Rate of Unemployment. That is, a steady state unemployment rate above which inflation would fall and below which inflation would rise. By some estimates the NAIRU is 6% in the U.S. NAIRU is approximately a synonym for natural rate of unemployment. (Econterms)
