Denison University Description

Denison is a highly-rated liberal arts college located in Granville, Ohio, about 30 miles east of Columbus. The university (more accurately a "college" since there are no graduate programs) boasts an impressive 10 to 1 student/faculty ratio, and students come from all across the U.S. and around the world. Denison's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences have earned it a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

The 900-acre campus is home to a 550-acre biological reserve. Denison does well with financial aid. The majority of aid comes in the form of grants, and students graduate with less debt than at most comparable colleges.

On the athletic front, Denison is a member of the NCAA's Division III North Coast Athletic Conference; it fields 23 sports, with 11 for men, and 12 for women. Denison has over 100 clubs and organizations, and hosts several concerts and events throughout the year. The university's many strengths earned it a place on my lists of Top Ohio Colleges and Top Midwest Colleges.
