It is affiliated with the United Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church. Dillard sits on a serene, 55-acre wooded campus in Gentilly, a residential area of the city, just a few miles from the shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Students at the university benefit from small class sizes and individual attention from professors, with a student faculty ratio of only 11 to 1. Dillard offers 22 undergraduate majors within its Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Professional Studies and Business, as well as a two-year gateway degree for incoming freshmen. The college also offers several continuing education options through the College of General Studies. The Institute of Jazz Culture, founded in 2002, gives students a holistic approach to learning the history and performance of Jazz. Students are involved in campus life as well, participating in more than 30 clubs and organizations and an active Greek life with six fraternities and sororities. On the athletic front, the Dillard Bleu Devils compete in the NAIA Division I Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
