Disney on Ice: Trove is fantastic!

Audiences see great figure skating while they remember the best Disney films. Segments from Toy Story, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Lion King, Snow White, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, and The Princess and the Frog keep the audience entertained for approximately two wonderful hours.

In the Alice in Wonderland segment, the Cards do precision skating and it is enjoyable to see the cards do a synchronized skating traditional pinwheel with the Ace cards skating hard to catch on!  Adagio pair skating is done throughout the show which is thrilling for the audience to see.  It is a delight to see Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and other Disney characters performing on ice skates.

Disney On Ice: Treasure Trove will make those who attend smile. This particular ice show may impress figure skating experts and coaches, ice skating fans, and competitive figure skaters.  I especially enjoyed seeing triple jumps and double jumps performed by several members of the cast.  I also enjoyed the pair, dance, and adagio skating.

The entire Disney On Ice: Treasure Trove cast seemed to be having a blast skating and performing.  The smiles on their faces made me smile.

My family had a great time and can't wait to see what Disney brings to Colorado next year!

JO ANN's Interview With Disney On Ice: Treasure Trove's Performance Director 3-11-16:

Tara Patterson joined Disney On Ice in 2000, right after she graduated from high school.  She met her husband Michael (Treasure Trove's head carpenter) almost as soon as she joined the show.  The couple were married by a justice of the peace in Portland, Maine while they were on tour in 2012.  They travel from city to city in their own vehicle and enjoy their very busy life on the road.

Patterson grew up in Canada and competed at the junior level in the Canadian National Figure Skating Championships. She loved performing in Disney On Ice as a figure skater and especially enjoyed playing the part of Belle in Beauty and the Beast and being one of the step-sisters in Cinderella.

She moved up through the ranks in the ice show industry after joining the show when she was only 18 years old.   She's been an Assistant Training Line Captain, Line Captain, and now is Treasure Trove's Performance Director.  She knows every step that every skater does in Disney On Ice: Treasure Trove and watches every show.  The skaters in the show appreciate Tara's comments which helps the performers work together and help one another improve.

In addition to making sure every part of the show goes smoothly, Patterson holds rehearsals and classes for the cast weekly and conducts auditions in some cities.

The Lion King segment of Treasure Trove is Tara's favorite part of the show.  Patterson says that Simba and Nala do wonderful pair and adagio skating and the sets and props make that part of the show fun to watch.  The entire cast is like a family and Tara says that she loves her life touring with Disney.  Her future after touring is uncertain and there are no plans to have a family at this time.

Tara Patterson knew she wanted to join Disney On Ice and skate in a professional ice show from the time she was a very young ice skater.  Her grandparents and aunts skated with Ice Capades and her sister also toured with Disney On Ice.

"Being on the road has given me the opportunity to travel and see the world in ways I would have never been able to on my own. . I am so grateful for this and have learned so much about myself in the process. As a Performance Director, it is my job to maintain the integrity and vision of the original choreographer and director." - Tara Patterson, Disney On Ice
