Experience

Dixie Allan wrote for ThoughtCo about web clip art for over five years. She is an artist and freelance graphic and website designer who has been working in the design field for nearly 35 years.

Allan began her design career as a needlework designer. She was one of the first designers to use a computer to create counted cross stitch and needlepoint charts. Her artistic skills combined with computer savvy is what laid the groundwork for her work in graphic design and digital art.

She served as a professor of graphic design and digital art at the Savannah College of Art and Design and the University of South Carolina. Currently, she is a freelancer working on design projects, creating digital art, and painting. ​​

Education

Allan holds a Master of Fine Arts degree and has taken advanced courses in digital printing, advanced scanning and Adobe creative suite.
