Dominican University of California is a private Catholic-heritage university located in San Rafael, California. The 86-acre campus sits in a small community near Mount Tamalpais and just 12 miles north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. The university offers an average class size of 16 students and an 11 to 1 student faculty ratio. Undergraduates can choose from 32 majors and minors, the most popular including nursing and psychology. Dominican also offers seven graduate degrees and several teaching credentials and continuing education programs. Student life is active on campus, with over 40 academic, recreational and religious clubs and organizations. The Dominican Penguins compete in the NCAA Division II Pacific West Conference for all sports except for men’s lacrosse, which competes in the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
