Discussion of Duquesne's Admissions Standards:

As the graph above shows, Duquesne University has moderately selective admissions. The blue and green dots represent accepted students, so you can see that most admitted students had a GPA of a "B" or higher, an ACT composite score of 23 or better, and a combined SAT score (RW+M) above 1100.

In the middle of the graph, you'll notice a number of red dots (rejected students) and yellow dots (waitlisted students) overlapping with the green and blue. This means that some students who were potentially on target for admission to Duquesne did not get in. On the flip side, you can see that a few students were accepted with test scores and grades a little below the norm. This is because Duquesne University has holistic admissions, so the admissions officers are evaluating students based on more than numerical data. The Duquesne application asks students to submit a personal essay and letter of recommendation. An audition is required for music applicants.
