Most admitted students have grades in the "B" range or higher, a combined SAT score of 950 or better, and an ACT composite score of 19 or better. Keep in mind that some students with grades and scores below these ranges still manage to get in. To apply, interested students should submit a completed application, official high school transcripts, and scores from the SAT or ACT. Be sure to visit EMU's admissions website for updated requirements, and to contact the admissions office with any questions. Outdoor lovers will appreciate the main campus's location along the Blue Ridge Parkway with biking, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and skiing opportunities all nearby. Eastern Mennonite has an average student to faculty ratio of 13 to 1 which allows for students to have small class sizes and easy access to their professors. Eastern Mennonite advertises that they wish for their students not only to learn from their faith’s perspective, but also to think cross-culturally. For this reason, the college encourages its students to study abroad while they attend the university. EMU students do well after graduation, and the university boasts a 98% employment placement rate of their students within a year of their graduation. Student life is active with a range of clubs and performance groups. On the athletic front, the EMU Royals compete in the NCAA Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The college fields seven men's and eight women's intercollegiate sports.
