Portland is a little over four hours to the west, and Boise is three hours to the southeast. The university's online programs have grown significantly in recent years with course delivery offered on the main campus and sixteen centers throughout the state. Nine majors can be completed entirely online. Residential students can choose from 23 bachelor's degree programs with business and education being quite popular. Classes tend to be small with about 15 students. On the student life front, Eastern Oregon University has over 50 student clubs and organizations. In athletics, the EOU Mountaineers compete in the NAIA Cascade Collegiate Conference. The college fields four men's and six women's intercollegiate sports.
