These free RC airplane plans feature fairly simple construction techniques with minimal frame components. Many of these are good for beginning modelers. The plans are not necessarily for beginner planes for flying, but the construction process is less complicated than some RC airplanes. Also see these intermediate to advanced RC airplane plans.

This series of RC Groups forum discussions include instructions and links to plans (in PDF format) and videos for how to build your own foam plane from hardware store materials. This looks like a great project for the new modeler. There is a PDF file with instructions along with the PDF plans in full page and tiled formats.
