Fashionable Apps for Costume Designers

Sewing Kit is just one of many helpful and useful apps available now for costume designers on-the-go. Courtesy of Vesta Software, LLC

Costume designers require a unique skill set that is, like so many in the performing arts, a combination of technical know-how and artistic talent. Costume designers must not only bring to their work a vibrant creative spark, but also an in-depth knowledge of fashion histories and styles throughout the ages, while also knowing how to work with the necessary fabrics and tools in the practical sense.

They've also got to bring to the table some mean sewing capabilities as well as an ability to sketch out and present their thoughts quickly and clearly.

While some of the apps you'll find listed here will be useful for costume designers seeking to capture a thought or inspiration, many others will also prove useful in a practical sense for designers who need a little reference help or inspiration on the go.
