Frances Katz is a licensed attorney who previously worked as a litigation attorney for a Vault 100 firm representing Fortune 500 companies. She also has experience as a staff writer for major publications, including The Atlanta Constitution and The Boston Herald. Currently, she is a regular contributor to Fast Company, and her work has also appeared in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Week, Marie Claire, Paste and others. She is a past winner of the Newswomen's Club of New York Award for Internet Reporting.
Frances earned her J.D. from New England Law in Boston. She spent the summer at Harvard Law School working on the launch of the Digital Media Law Project and spent a semester studying World Intellectual Property Law in Beijing, China. She has a master's degree in English and American Literature from Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from Boston University College of Communication.
