Pittsburgh is about 30 miles to the east. The university takes its Catholic identity seriously and describes the campus environment as "pro-life, pro-family, and pro-Catholic." The university offers 5 associate, 36 bachelor, and 7 master degree programs. At the bachelor's level, the most popular majors span professional fields (nursing, education, business), the humanities (English, philosophy) and religious fields (theology, catechetics). Within a year of graduation, over 90% of students successfully move on to employment, graduate school, or religious life. The university has a range of student groups and organization including a unique residential model centered around "faith households" -- small same-sex groups of peers who support each other in their efforts to grow in mind, body and spirit.
