Germany Women's Alpine Ski Racing Team

For the German Women's Alpine Racing Team both Maria Hoefl-Riesch and Viktoria Rebensburg finished the 2013 FIS World Cup season in the top ten of the Overall standings - Hoefl-Riesch in second and Rebensburg in sixth place. However, their placement in the Overall is a testament to their ability to score some significant points in all the disciplines as neither was able to capture an FIS Globe in any single discipline and that's not the usual end-of-season scenario for the German ladies.

Aside from Hoefl-Riesch and Rebensburg ten other women scored FIS points but none to produce any possible threats to the World Cup leaders.

Looking ahead to Sochi, if they stay healthy, you can expect to see both Hoefl-Riesch and Rebensburg battling for position on podiums in all the disciplines. The German women's bench isn't that deep in proven talent, but there is a lot of potential promise and some of the youngsters just might heed the cowbells and rally through.
