Discussion of Goucher College's Admissions Standards: About a quarter of the applicants to Goucher College will not receive acceptance letters, and successful applicants tend to have strong academic records. In the graph above, the green and blue dots represent admitted students. You can see that most had SAT scores (RW+M) of 1050 or higher, ACT composite scores of 20 or higher, and a high school average of "B" or better. Realize that grades matter much more than standardized test scores -- Goucher College has test-optional admissions. Note that there are a few red dots (rejected students) and yellow dots (waitlisted students) overlapping with the green and blue in the middle of the graph. A few students with grades and test scores that were on target for Goucher College were not admitted. Note also that a few students were accepted with grades a little below the norm.
