Founded in 1775, Hampden-Sydney College is the 10th oldest college in the United States. It is also one of the few all-male colleges in the country. Hampden-Sydney's attractive 1340-acre campus is located about 60 miles from Richmond, Virginia, and it features red-brick buildings in the Federal style. The college if affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, and its general education goals include moral, civic, and academic components.
