Thanksgiving Is the Foodie's Favorite Holiday
Thanksgiving is not complete without the traditional, elaborate feast. On this holiday, people prepare variety of food, including the traditional roast turkey. The table is laden with a variety of salads, roast turkey, gravies, pies, and vegetables.

Thanksgiving is a gourmand's delight -- a gastronomic fiesta for foodies. As the wonderful aroma of roasting turkey fills the kitchen, you are reminded of the many Thanksgiving meals that you shared with family during childhood.
The delicious pumpkin and cranberry pies make you nostalgic about grandmother's cooking. Kids enjoy the celebration, and also learn a few valuable lessons on social behavior as they share the Thanksgiving meal with family.

Laughter at the Thanksgiving Dinner Table
As you sit around the family dinner table, tucking in the array of lip-smacking delights, there is place for conversation, laughter and a host of thanksgiving humor. One of my favorites is by American actress and comedian Rita Rudner. It goes, "My mother is such a lousy cook that Thanksgiving at her house is a time of sorrow." Gratitude is wonderful, but Thanksgiving is not without its share of humor. Find some more funny Thanksgiving sayings on this page.

Make the most of Thanksgiving by expressing your gratitude to those that matter. Scour the stores for appropriate "thank you" cards or simply text your appreciation. James Russell Lowell
Not what we give,
But what we share,
For the gift
without the giver
Is bare.

The Importance of a Heartfelt "Thank You"
Ancient Roman philosopher and statesman Cicero has left behind many quotable quotes. He said, "A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all other virtues." This wise quotation reminds us of the importance of being grateful. A simple "thank you" has the power to make people feel appreciated. There is hardly a better occasion to express your appreciation than on Thanksgiving.
Sir John Templeton
How wonderful it would be if we could help our children and grandchildren to learn Thanksgiving at an early age. Thanksgiving opens the doors. It changes a child's personality. A child is resentful, negative -- or thankful. Thankful children want to give, they radiate happiness; they draw people.

Every Day Is Thanksgiving Day
Why limit expressions of gratitude to just a single day of the year? Let the thanks flow everyday. Call your parents and express your love and gratitude. Show your appreciation to friends and teachers. Everyone likes to be appreciated, and while Thanksgiving offers a great opportunity, so does every other day of the year. Remember that joyful quote by author Amanda Bradley, "Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!" Happy Thanksgiving!
