Saturday Night Live Explains 'Game of Thrones' Sex Scenes

Anyone who has ever watched "Game of Thrones" can tell you that sometimes the "R" rated scenes are a bit gratuitous, not that we're complaining, and as usual, "Saturday Night Live" nailed this sketch of a "behind-the-scenes" expose of why those graphic scenes exist. In this spoof, SNL imagines that GoT has two creative consultants; one is author George R.R. Martin, and the other is a 13-year-old boy (played by Andy Samberg) whose contributions to the series are boobs and sex scenes. Hilarious!

Screen Junkies, the YouTube channel responsible for the funniest Honest Movie Trailers on the web, totally nails this GoT trailer. You've got to especially love the 20 second tribute to all the nude scenes... "not that I'm complaining."

During the 2012 Presidential elections, independent news site Mother Jones created three satirical political attack ads aimed major characters in "Game of Thrones." The ads focused on Daenerys Targaryen, Robb Stark, and the king everyone loves to hate, Joffrey Baratheon. We can't help but agree... where is Joffrey's birth certificate, anyway?

Fans of the cult classic movie, "The Princess Bride" will recognize the faces in this charming faux promo. Fred Savage and his grandpa, Peter Falk, sit down to read a story, but it's a little different than the tale of Wesley and Buttercup that we're used to! Very cute clip.

This clip imagines what "Game of Thrones" would look like if it were a romantic comedy. Set to the upbeat song, "Call Me Maybe," by Carly Rae Jepsen, this is a bouncy, quirky version of the series that renders it almost unrecognizable, in a very funny way. Bonus points to the editors for finding a clip of almost all of the characters actually smiling! That's an impressive feat all on its own.

First was bought by Disney, and now this! "Star Wars" fans will love this version of the fight between Ned Stark and Jaime Lannister, where someone has cleverly replaced the character's swords with lightsabers. It's pretty epic.

When a few scenes from the first episode of "Game of Thrones" are set to a laugh track and the well-known theme music from
"Seinfeld," suddenly the show doesn't seem so dark and depressing at all. In fact, it's quite cheerful! To be fair though, we all think hitting Joffrey in the face is funny, even without the music

Most of us will recognize this song, the Geto Boys' "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta," from the awesome cult classic, "Office Space," and it is used just as hilariously in this clip. With lines like, "real high-class lords choose incest," this spoof shows Jaime and Tyrion Lannister being, well, gangstas.

This clip just goes to show what good editing and the addition of upbeat music can do to change the tone of a show! This fake TV series promo focuses on the characters of Tyrion and Bronn. It's a buddy comedy, naturally. Well done!

You know those PSAs where celebrities encourage teens to hang in there because it (life) gets better? This is a take on that premise, but instead of life, the comedians are talking about the books. Containing big-time spoilers for book three in the series, "A Storm of Swords," this is an honest take on how utterly gutting this story really is. Basically, don't fall in love with any characters on the show, because you'll get your heart broken when they're ultimately killed off.

The fabulous comedy troupe The Key of Awesome is at it again. This time, they have taken the Maroon 5 song, "Payphone" and imagined that lead singer Adam Levine has an unhealthy fascination with "Game of Thrones"

The famously epic "Game of Thrones" opener gets the Funny Or Die "homemade intro" treatment. Construction paper and "Ba ba ba ba" singing has never been this perfect.

Looks like all that time spent with the Wildlings hasn't done much for Jon Snow's manners! Or maybe he really does know nothing? This sketch was made for "Late Night with Seth Meyers."
