Most ski instructors start out receiving $8/hour for teaching skiing. However, depending on your level and expertise, you can receive between $10-$15 per hour. Advanced instructors can make around $25. Clinic instructors and private instructors can make much more. Salary also depends on the instructor's level of Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) certification.

Yearly salary is purported to range between between $25,000 to $35,000, though this depends on location, expertise, and level of position.

However, the average ski instructor reports making between $5,000-$10,000 a year.

In addition to wages, ski instructors often receive tips from clients. Additional perks include free lift tickets and free season passes, depending on the number of hours you work.
