Mueller Updated March 17, 2017 "If Life Was About Me" is an original Christian poem submitted by an About.com member. With a touch of light humor, contributor Warren M. Mueller takes an amusing look at the human tendency to think that life is "all about me." Do you have an original Christian prayer that would encourage or benefit a fellow believer? If Life Was About Me If life was about me, I'd live to be one hundred and three!I'd have a muscular physique and be six foot three.I'd always be young in body and mindWith the ability to recall details of every kind! I'd choose to be born in a family of great wealthand I'd always be in perfect health! There would be no limits on what I could buy.I'd eat whatever I wished without gainand I'd never get sick or feel pain. What's that you say?Life is not this way for me or youNot for anyone else, too!Well, okay, I suppose I'd still be happy with a freckle or two! It might look silly to have a muscular body at one hundred and three! If I can't have everything I want, then I'd be limited in who I am and who I could be!This is quite unacceptable if life is all about me! Deep inside me I long to live my wayTo pursue pleasures and only seeOthers as though they were there for me. Well then, if life's not all about meThen what is it about? Please tell me! It has a purpose and a planBut it does not center on man.Look about and you can seeThere is grandeur, design and complexity!Man is far too frail and temporary! It's obvious that there's someone with a higher view.Someone with greater intelligence than me or youSomeone who transcends time and spaceAnd can take care of this place. Who can that be?It's about God and not about me!
