James Rocchi is a former writer for ThoughtCo who covered movies. James began working as a film critic in 2008. Since that time, his reviews, commentary, and interviews appear in entertainment media outlets such as MSN.com, Aol.com, TheWrap.com, IndieWire.com, MotherJones.com, and many others.

James appeared in the documentary film Rewind This! (Imperial PolyFarm Productions, 2013), where he played himself, a film critic. He wrote Rocchi's Retro Rental column for the San Francisco Chronicle (SFGate.com) and film reviews for The Los Angeles Times. His work also appears both in print and online at such prestigious outlets as IndieWire.com, RollingStone.com, Film.com, MSN.com, Netflix.com, MotherJones.com, Nylon Magazine, Boxoffice Magazine, Empire Magazine, and countless others.


James Rocchi earned a Bachelor Arts (B.A.) in English and History from Western University in 1992.​
