Jennifer Kendall is a former writer for ThoughCo whose primary focus was on reviewing selections from Young Adult literature and writing guides about English, grammar, and storytelling.
Kendall has worked with young people from many different backgrounds for most of her career, during which she created educational packets for homebound teen moms, taught English at an alternative high school, and tutored at-risk teens in reading. As a teacher and tutor, Kendall has been working with teenagers for more than 20 years.
Currently, she works full time as a youth librarian organizing teen library programs, performing reader advisory services, and teaching local school groups how to navigate the library catalog. She formed the library’s first Teen Advisory Group (TAG) and provides leadership opportunities for local teens to host teen programs and help make selections for the Young Adult collection. In addition, she writes book reviews for her local paper.
Kendall holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah where she majored in English Education and Reading. She is working on completing her Master of Language Studies degree at the University of Arizona and continues to take additional professional development courses to keep her teaching certificate active.
