Jocelly Meiners, PhD is an expert on Hispanic Linguistics with over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish at the college level.
Jocelly was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica; her native language is Spanish. She moved to Austin, TX to attend college and graduate school, where she began teaching Spanish as a second language.
She has over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish at the college level, and she currently specializes in teaching Spanish as a heritage language. Her research interests include pragmatics and emotion in second language acquisition, heritage Spanish learners and pedagogy, and linguistic attitudes and language maintenance as they relate to Spanish language in the US.
Jocelly attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she obtained a BA in French and Astronomy, an MA in French Linguistics, and a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics.
