Experience

John Rico is a former writer for ThoughtCo. He is a freelance journalist with two published books and dozens of magazine articles for GQ, Salon, and Penthouse. He has a special interest in war and action films and written two nonfiction books, including one describing his time as an infantry soldier in Afghanistan. He was the film critic on War and Action Films for ThoughtCo for two and a half years. 

Education

John Rico has two master's degrees from the University of Colorado at Denver, in political science and government and criminology and criminal justice. He has two B.S. degrees from Metropolitan State University of Denver in criminal justice and political science, and a B.A. in English from the same institution.
