Anyone who lives or works in New York City or visits "The Big Apple" usually wants to skate at or take a trip to the famous and legendary Rockefeller Center.

And guess what!!?  if you wake up VERY early, on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings, you can join in on "JoJo's Cool Workout," an ice skating class geared for adults!

JoJo Starbuck - Ice Skating Champion and Olympian:

With her pair skating partner, Kenneth Shelley, JoJo Starbuck won the U.S. national pair skating title in 1970, 1971, and 1972.

Starbuck and Shelley won bronze at the 1971 and 1972 World Figure Skating Championships.  They also competed in two Winter Olympic Games and finished 4th in Sapporo in 1972.

JoJo led the group through simple on-ice warm up exercises such as bending our knees, swizzles, dips, and one foot glide leg stretches.  We learned to "be beautiful on the ice" and how to use our arms and heads. JoJo especially looked glamorous and beautiful!

As the hour of instruction moved on, JoJo taught spent time teaching forward crossovers and backward skating.

Don't forget the class costs $65 which includes skate rental, continental breakfast, instruction, and exclusive use of the ice rink for an hour.  No classes take place during December, so visit in October, November, January, February, March, and in early April.

If you live or work in New York City (or even nearby), I highly recommend JoJo Starbuck's class.

She also teaches a similar class later in the day at Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, New Jersey.
