Discussion of Knox College's Admissions Standards:

Admission to Knox College is selective, and roughly a third of all applicants will not be admitted. Accepted students tend to have GPAs above a 3.0, SAT scores over 1050 (RW+M), and ACT composite scores of 21 or higher. Many admitted students had grades up in the "A" range. If your SAT or ACT scores are below the ideal range, don't worry -- Knox College has test-optional admissions.

In the middle of the graph you'll see a few red dots (rejected students) and yellow dots (waitlisted students) mixed in with the green and the blue. Some students who seemed to be on target for admission to Knox did not get in. On the flip side, a few students with scores and grades below the norm were admitted. These seeming inconsistencies are because Knox College has holistic admissions and takes into consideration much more than numerical data. The college uses the Common Application and will be looking for strong letters of recommendation, an engaging personal statement, and participation in meaningful extracurricular activities. Also, Knox College highly recommends that applicants do a college admissions interview.
