Still, the admissions bar is not overly high and those with solid test scores and grades are likely to be admitted. Memphis is about 80 miles away. The historically Black college supports its 1,400 students with a student/faculty ratio of 19 to 1. Lane is the first four-year university established by the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
