Founded in 1891, Lenoir-Rhyne University is a four-year, private, Evangelical Lutheran university in Hickory, North Carolina. The university supports roughly 1,800 students with an average class size of 17 and a student/faculty ratio of 12 to 1. Lenoir-Rhyne offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as an Honors Academy for high-achieving students. Students stay busy outside of the classroom, for Lenoir-Rhyne has a host of student clubs and organizations including an Equestrian Club, Fishing Club, and Outdoor Adventure Club. The school also has sororities, fraternities, and intramural sports such as Beach Volleyball, Flag Football, and Dodgeball.

Lenoir-Rhyne competes in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference (SAC) with sports that include men’s and women’s golf, lacrosse, and swimming.
